PROTECTION FROM JALAKALA, IMPROVED

7th level

Abjuration
RANGE: Touch
COMP: VSM (sand from an area under a Jalakala spell, plus a piece of amber worth at least 50gp, encircled with a loop of thin rubber)
DUR: 15 hours+1 hour/level
CAST: 1 round
AREA: one creature
SAVE? Negates (if creature is unwilling, only)

This spell is an exact duplicate of the spell Protection From Jalakala, with one major difference. One minute before the spell expires, the target hears the sound of bells. During this minute, the target can speak a word chosen by the spellcaster during the casting of the spell. Speaking the word automatically teleports the target and anything he is holding back to the site where the spell was cast upon him.

The rubber-encircled amber must be held by the speaker when he says the word of recall, as the teleportational energy is stored within it. If the amber or rubber is destroyed before the end of the spell, or if the rubber is removed from the amber, the magic becomes unusable and wasted. In any event, the rubber and amber are consumed by the spell at the end of the spell, even if the teleportation was not used.

This spell has no priestly equivalent.
